Dr. Kumar Awarded several gold medals and prizes in Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, SPM, Medicines and Paediatrics in MBBS.He was Best outgoing student of Madurai Medical College and awarded the prestigious Dr. C.K.P. MENON Gold Medal. He got University first in DCH and MD (Paed) and awarded Sir. Dr. A.L. Mudaliar Prize.He got also University first in DM (Neurology) at Madras Medical College (1982).
Then he Received “National award of excellence” in neurology awarded by the Honorable Health Minister of Tamil nadu Mr. Dhalavaisundaram in 2003. In2019, he Received Master Teachers Award – 2019 in the International Clinical Neurology Conference on 22nd February 2019. He is First Indian to become an Examiner for MRCO part 3 [for Neuro-ophthalmology].
In 2003, he faced Membership Examination of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists London. Held at Aravind Eye Hospital 17.10.2003. Dr. Jaya Kumar Published 39 Scientific Papers in Various Journals & Conferences. He has Invited guest speaker in several International, National, Regional, State conferences and CME programs. Presently Dr. Jaya Kumar is Chief Neurologist at JK Institute Of Neurology, Madurai.
