AC
If the doctor has written AC in English on the slip, it means that you have to take the medicine before meals.
PC
If you see pc written on the prescription, it means that you have to take the medicine after eating.
OD
This means that you only have to take the medicine once a day. If the medicine is taken more than once, it can cause harm.
BD/BDS
If the doctor has written bd/bds on the prescription, it means that the medicine has to be taken twice. On the other hand, if TDS is written then it means that the medicine has to be taken thrice and if QTDS is written then the medicine has to be taken four times a day.
SOS
When the doctor writes SOS on the prescription, it means that the medicine should be consumed only when there is some kind of emergency. As if there is more pain or the problem is felt more.
AdLib
This means that take the medicine in the quantity as prescribed by the doctor.
PO
This means that the drug is not to be taken in any injection or other way. It has to be taken by mouth only.
GTT
It would mean that the medicine is drops.
