Dr. Sathish did his undergraduate degree (M.B.B.S 2001-2007) from the prestigious Madras medical college. Then he completed his post graduation (M.D Paediatrics 2009-2012) from another premier institute, Madurai medical college. He has presented papers in state conference. He has also won many quiz competitions in college and state levels. During his postgraduation he witnessed an epidemic of Dengue fever and did his thesis on clinical profile and outcome of dengue fever in hospitalised children and was rewarded with highest scores for the same in state level.
After completing his residency he joined Tamilnadu medical service as Assistant Professor of Neonatology at Government Rajaji hospital, Madurai and worked there for a period of about 2 years.
Following which he developed interest in the field of neonatology. His area of interest includes mechanical ventilation, total body cooling for Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy, caring of extremely low birth weight babies from 24 weeks of gestation and neonatal transport. He has done more than 600 neonatal retrievals (transporting sick newborn babies) in Madurai and surrounding districts covering a radius of about 120 kms in our well equipped ambulance. He has vast experience in doing neonatal procedures. He is also interested in managing young critically ill children in our Paediatric critical care unit.
He is a member of Indian academy of Paediatrics (IAP) & National Neonatology Forum (NNF). He is a national trainer for Neonatal Resuscitation Programme (NRP). Currently he is working with Rio Children Hospital as a Senior Consultant.
