Dr. Akila Devi did her MBBS from PSG Institute of Medical Science & Research. She did her post graduate in paediatrics (DNB-Paediatrics) from National Board of Examinations in Southern Railway Head Quarters Hospital, Chennai. She did her super speciality specialization in Paediatric Emergency as Fellowship Course-FPEM [Fellowship in Paediatric Emergency Medicine] conducted by Society of Trauma & Emergency Paediatrics (STEP) in one of the leading Paediatric Tertiary care unit,Mehta Childrens Hospital, Chennai.
She worked as Senior Registrar & Junior consultant in the department of paediatrics & Paediatric emergency for 6 years in Mehta Childrens Hospital, Chennai.
She is a trained & certified person in Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
She has authored various topics in Paediatric Text books & Paediatric journals (IJPP).
She has presented & co-authored research papers which were presented in state conferences.
She had been the speaker in various topics & workshops in paediatric CME’s
She is been into Paediatric post graduate teaching in one of the premier paediatric DNB centre - Mehta Children’s Hospital.
She is a life member of Indian Academy of Paediatrics and Society of Trauma & Emergency Paediatrics.
She is very keen in Practicing Ethical paediatrics with Rational use of antibiotics. She is interested in creating awareness in parents & teachers about social paediatrics. Her area of interest is General Paediatrics, Paediatric Emergency, Paediatric infectious diseases, Social Paediatrics & Developmental Paediatrics.
